For Artists In Residence

An Artist in Residence can stay in 'El Jefe', the caravan near the gate where you enter the finca, or in the 'Casita', a small apartment unneath the main house.

Caravan 'El Jefe'

Possibilities for Artist in Residence in El Jefe.

An Artist in Residence can stay in ‘El jefe’, the caravan near the gate where you enter the finca. ‘El Jefe’ is a Tabbert caravan, known as THE gipsy caravan of all times. On a super idyllic place in the shadow of some eucalyptus trees, you can enjoy the stunning views on the valley and its mountains. Live the freedom of nature on this OFF-GRID location. You will find the inspiration!

The Caravan has all basic facilities to stay in one place, work on music, writing, theatre or arts. There is a double bed, table to work or eat and a small kitchen with a gass stove. Outside you will find a cold water tap near the terrace. There is a solar shower to hang in the sun for having a nice warm shower. We will have a dry-toilet in the future but for now you will have to use the garden or the outside toilet near the house.

La Casita

Possibilities for Artist in Residence in the Casita

The Casita is a tiny apartment with a bathroom ‘en suite’ of 10m2. It is situated underneath the balcony of the main house. It has a large, beautifully tiled terrace over 40m2 with its own entrance, an outdoor kitchen with a sink to do your laundry by hand. There is hot water but also a solar shower available when the electricity is low.

The Casita is suitable for 1.5 person. The bed is 1.20m wide and quite high, which means there is a lot of storage under the bed. You have a spectacular view to the south and the sun-drenched garden. There will be mosaic lounger and plunge pool in the future. A mosaic staircase will give you direct acces to the great pink balcony, and the living room of the main house.

This place is ideal for “Artists in Residence” where the covered terrace can be used as a studio. Painting landscapes, portraits, ceramics or writing… There is also a possibility to use the workspace with all kind of tools for wood or metal. In the neighborhood you  will find a ceramic kiln or a fabric to make your own hydraulic tiles. In the town Cortes de la Frontera, there is an exhibition venue ‘Sala de Exposiciones Pablo Ruiz Picasso’ to expose your work to the public.
